Vespas in general:

PROS: They look good and are easy to handle in city traffic. You never have to look long for a parking place and even if you park on the pavement, most people don't mind (as opposed to cars and motorcycles). Maintenance is very cheap as well as insurance. Gas consumption is low, usually 0.3 l/10km = 83 mpg. The covered body and engine allows you to ride without getting dirty. If you fit a front windscreen you can even ride when it rains without getting wet. The front and back wheel are interchangeable so bringing one spare wheel is enough to handle all kinds of flats.

CONS: All old vespas suffers from a weak front brake and even if you pull the handle hard it is almost impossible to lock the front wheel--so keep your distance. On slippery ground like wet cobblestone it may be very hazardous to ride. On oldies, the 6V 25W headlight is hardly anything to brag over. Since the engine is two stroke you have to mix oil and petrol manually or on a regular basis check the level in the oil tank if such is fitted.
